This project was offered out to competition and won by ourselves.
The brief was to design and deliver a combined Sports & Arts centre for this local school, also featuring community use out of school hours.
We worked closely with Bradford Council, the school and also the lottery commission to assist in lottery grants being awarded to the project and then worked closely with the above as well as liaison with Sport England to deliver a multi-faceted design.
Our design included a large sports hall that had a sprung floor to accommodate multiple sports including the rigorous standards for gymnastics and dance. The sports hall also featured acoustic treatment to ensure that there would not be too much echo and reverberation during sports activity, yet still have enough reflection to deliver spoken-word performances throughout the hall during theatrical presentations.
Fully featured changing facilities were incorporated as well as reading rooms and a suite of education classrooms designed for music, audio-visual and performing arts.
